Art Summer Camp – Welcome Packet (Summer 2026)

A newly launched camp focused on energetic, exciting, and active-based art programming.

Welcome to the inaugural year of the UIC School of Art & Art History Art Summer Camp. This program is designed to provide hands-on art experiences in an active studio environment that supports curiosity, creativity, skill-building, and confidence through making. Campers will work through structured studio blocks led by licensed K–12 art educators, with time for collaboration, reflection, and a family showcase at the end of the week.

Camp Hours

9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (daily)

Family Showcase

Friday of each session, 3:00–4:00 PM (Families welcome)

Capacity

Two classes per week; 20 seats per class (40 campers/week)

9:00–9:15 AM

Arrival & Morning Welcome

Studio Block I (demo + guided making)

10:30–10:45 AM

Snack Break

10:45 AM–12:00 PM

Studio Block II (project work + support)

12:00–12:30 PM

Lunch

12:30–2:30 PM

Studio Block III (collaboration + making + critique moments)

2:30–3:00 PM

Reflection, Cleanup & Dismissal Preparation

 

Friday Family Showcase: Families are invited to attend a brief exhibition of camper work from 3:00-4:00 PM on the final Friday of each session.
