Congrats to MFA candidate Leticia Bernaus whose work La vida secreta de las piedras, 2018 will be featured in the McLean show. La vida secreta de las piedras purpose is to match hierarchies: in this photographic series, geology and culture become equivalent. Veiled by plastic, the marble’s stoic beauty is challenged. This series enhances the statue’s spectral quality while juxtaposes epochs in a unique space.
This work was made in Rome at the IILA-FOTOGRAFIA Art Residency 2017. La vida secreta de las piedras was part of the exhibiton “IILLA-PHOTOGRA-PHY, 10 years of PHOTO IILA” last October at the Mattatoio Contemporary Art Museum in Rome, Italy.
The McLean exhibition will also feature MFA candidate Javier Jasso.
