The Museum and Exhibition Studies Program (MUSE) is partnering with the Prison and Neighborhood Arts Project (PNAP) at Stateville Prison on a project titled Out of Bounds. Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, Out of Bounds will bring Aaron Hughes (http://www.aarhughes.org/) and Andres Hernandez (http://www.chicagoartistsmonth.org/featured-artists/andres-l-hernandez ) to Stateville to develop a work of art with incarcerated artists during 2016. Linking the outside (nonincarcerated) and inside (incarcerated) artists through the themes of identity and place, the project will culminate in a body of work that will be organized, interpreted, and exhibited by MUSE graduate students in a Spring 2017 course, AH 544: Public Engagement in Museums, taught by visiting instructor Fereshteh Toosi (http://www.fereshteh.net/).
