Museum & Exhibition Studies alumna Anna Lepsch (MUSE 2015) co-curated "Chicago's Families: Finding Home" on behalf of the Center for Gender and Sexuality at UIC.
"Finding Home" describes the journeys of four communities, each represented by one of four curatorial partners—the University of Illinois at Chicago's Center for Gender and Sexuality, Swedish American Museum, the Japanese American Service Committee, and the National Public Housing Museum—as they create chosen families, build community, and arrive at home.
"Finding Home" is part of "Chicago’s Families," a multi-sited, collaborative exhibition created by members of the Chicago Cultural Alliance that explores what it means to be family in Chicago. With six anchor site exhibitions exploring different themes, it features cross-cultural educational programming and events, and an online exhibition through the CCA Shared Digital Archive. The Swedish American Museum is one of seven anchor exhibition sites.
