Facets, a leading national media arts organization, will partner with The School of Art & Art History in the 2015 presentation of Facet's annual Summer Film Institute (July 13-17 at Facets, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave.).
The Summer Film Institute equips educators with the analytical and practical skills to appreciate, interpret, and apply the language of film to their classrooms. Partnering with UIC will guarantee the Institute’s academic and professional rigor and provide participants with access to the wealth of continuing education opportunities offered at the university.
During this five-day course, film scholars provide expert instruction on film aesthetics, history, and techniques, supported by scholarly articles and handouts. Participants watch feature films apply learning through discussion, activities, and worksheets.
