Public Histories, Social Memories, and Reimagining Communities in South Africa
Cape Town June 8 - July 6th, 2015
Led by Professors Therese Quinn and Lynette Jackson. This program explores the ways that South African museums, monuments, and archives serve as sites of public and social memory that tell stories of the nation. In particular, the program will offer opportunities for participants to examine how South Africa has used cultural forms to address its past and reimagine its future following the end of Apartheid in 1994.
