Johanna Bonilla-Recendez accepted to Grow Your Own Teachers Illinois (GYO)

A senior in the BFA in Art Education program, Johanna Bonilla-Recendez was recently accepted to Grow Your Own Teachers Illinois (GYO), a program that works to diversify the teaching profession in the state. As a GYO participant, Johanna will receive mentorship and financial support to complete her degree and become a licensed art teacher at the K-12 level. Here's what Johanna has to say about her award: "Being accepted to GYO means becoming part of an amazing group of future educators focused on making a difference not only in the classroom but also within our students' communities."
