NEH Award for Surviving the Long Wars

Therese Quinn has received an NEH award of $100,000 with Ronak Kapadia, Aaron Hughes and Joseph Lefthand in the Dialogues on the Experience of War category for their project, Surviving the Long Wars: Visualizing Parallels Between the US "Indian Wars" and the "Global War of Terror". The award will support a two-semester class taught by Aaron in MUSE, with the participation of BIPOC veterans/community leaders who served in the Global War on Terror as humanities discussion leaders. The project will culminate in veteran-led forums at the second National Veteran Art Movement Triennial and Summit at the Chicago Cultural Center and the Hyde Park Art Center in 2023.
