The Illinois Deaths in Custody Project (ildeathsincustody.org/), organized by Jose Luis Benavides (Art), Sarah Padilla (MUSE), Therese Quinn (MUSE), and Matthew Yasuoka (MUSE) has received a 2017 Illinois Humanities Community Grants Program Award of $4,000.
Illinois Humanities works to build dialogue across all sectors of society to examine issues important to decocracy in the focus areas of public policy, media & journalism, business, and art. Using the humanities as tools to stimulate discussion, Illinois Humanities create experiences across Illinois through programming, events, and grantmaking to engage a diverse public on ideas and issues that matter.
