Kaia Olsen (MFA '22) was named a Recipient of the 2022/23 Dean's Professional Development Fund Award for The Praxis of Play!
“I have been invited to deliver a presentation I've written called "The Praxis of Play", inspired by my recent artistic research and studio practice activities (including findings, and artwork exemplars created during my Graduate MFA studies within UIC's Art department from 2020-2022), as part of a larger panel called "Joy as Resilience: Subverting the Hell Times through Play", at the 111th College Art Associations National Conference. This paper/presentation is the most recent culmination of my latest research, inspired by elements from my MFA Thesis, but substantively evolved.” Congrats, Kaia!
