Garden for a Changing Climate joins Sweet Water Foundation's First Annual Juneteenth Celebration, focusing on the theme of Radical [Re]Construction; Radical, meaning of or restoring to the root, and [Re]Construction, the rebuilding and healing of our community. This event brings together community partners in Washington Park for a day of programs, including arts and crafts, health and wellness activities, performances, cooking demonstrations, and much more!
Garden for a Changing Climate workshops will include printmaking, woodworking, seed bombing, button making, and protest banners.
Sweet Water Foundation's Juneteenth Celebration Activities:
- Special Guests and Performances Including: Mr. Danny Glover, DJ Kwest_On, Corey Wilkes, Onye Ozuzu + Project Tool, Peck Elementary student performers, and the International Capoeira Angola Foundation - Chicago
- Vendors: Natural foods by Inner + Sanctum Wellness and Barbara Pillow, Designed objects by Donzel Gordon
- Sweet Water Information Session and Site Tours
