Jonathan Kelley

BA from Williams College in 1994. Major: Third World Studies

While Jonathan was an undergraduate, the electorate of his home state of Colorado passed "Amendment 2" -- a state constitutional amendment that banned municipalities from prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. This stunning act helped motivate Jonathan to return to the state after college and work on improving the state of queer organizing and education for a number of years. In 1998, he moved to Chicago and for 17 years worked to advance the cause of freedom of speech and freedom of access to information while at the American Library Association. Jonathan is now excited to start the process of bringing his passions for social change, discourse, and community engagement into the world of museums!
