School of Art and Art History
Join us Friday, April 6th for the opening of TRANSGRESSIONS, our 2018 BFA Thesis Exhibition.
Enjoy the artwork of our graduating seniors and mingle with them to learn about their work, processes, and experience at the School of Art & Art History.
TRANSGRESSIONS: To transgress means to go against a proposed boundary, whether physical or abstract.
Through the act of creating ephemeral spaces of possibility and of pushing against limitations (both material and conceptual), this cohort of emerging artists transgress. Their actions take the form of gestures in light, interruptions of space, performance, intervention, film, and the construction of objects that redefine intentionality.
The opening will run from 6-9pm in the Great Space @ 400 S. Peoria St. The exhibition will continue through April 13th.
Participating artists: M. Balzekas, Nathan Barksdale, Sam Crespo, Carla Crittenden, Kristine B Easton, Jennifer Franco, Gabriela Ibarra, Rachel Martorana, Eunice Melara, Francisco Meraz, Glenda Lissette, Hana Pecanin, Peter Rattin, Drew Richardson, Daley R., Emilia Saber, Paola Salazar, Alexander Sears, Agnieszka Turek, Kiki Jia Qi Zhen
